Rimsky-Korsakov’s “The Tsar's Bride” is one of the most popular operas in the world repertoire and one of the composer's most penetrative works.

True Shakespearean passions rage in this great opera: love, jealousy and vengeance ignite all the characters and lead to a whole series of evil deeds. Behind it all looms the figure of Ivan the Terrible, who personifies the lawlessness of power and the trampling of the individual. Rimsky-Korsakov's inspired music raises the dramatic conflicts in the plot to the level of high tragedy. The Zazerkalye Theatre invites you to listen to “The Tsar’s Bride” on 24 February. The conductor is People's Artist of Russia Pavel Bubelnikov, the director — People’s Artist of Russia Alexander Petrov and the designer — Honoured Artist of Russia Vladimir Firer.
