The only museum in Russia and one of the few in the world that trace the history of the origins and development of religion. Around 200,000 exhibits, the oldest dating from the 6th millennium BC. Permanent display devoted to archaic beliefs, the religions of the Ancient World, Judaism, Islam, Buddhism and Christianity. “The Silver Storeroom”: open storage of precious metals. New section in the permanent display: “Religions of the East: Buddhism, Hinduism, Confucianism, Taoism, Shintoism”. Open storage funds: “The Masonic Collection of the Museum of the History of Religion” (by prior arrangement).
